The New Skill Centre is an Independent School catering specifically for pupils with SEN needs

We provide a tailored educational provision for pupils who have found difficulty accessing mainstream provision or other forms of education.

We are passionate about providing personalised programmes of learning that enables each learner to rapidly progress. As a small welcoming school, we set high expectations for all our learners whilst providing a learning environment that immerses the young person in a curriculum which meets their needs now and in the future.

Our Vision

Our Vision is to provide the best opportunity for pupils to thrive; enabling the young person to progress academically, personally, socially and emotionally so they can fulfil their potential.

Underpinning this vision is the emphasis and value we place on building positive, supportive and trusting relationships with pupils, family members, carers and other professionals.

At all times, we are striving to ensure pupils progress academically and to help all pupils become more resilient, adaptable, confident and capable individuals.

Our Students

Since I joined New Skill Centre, I immediately felt welcomed by staff and my anxieties about starting at a new school quickly reduced. The positive environment in and outside classes made me feel comfortable and for the first time at a school setting, I felt I was genuinely cared for.

At the school there is a range of interesting subjects from sociology to cooking and many others. In these lessons I have been encouraged and supported, which has built my confidence and has started to reveal my true potential. As well as academic leaning there is a focus on living independently and engaging with the community, which includes trips and visits in lessons such as Community.

My parents have had regular conversations about my progress and well being and the school encourages open and honest communication. In summary, New Skill Centre meets my needs and I feel as if I’m respected and belong here. I would recommend this school to anybody who is thinking about coming here.
