Computer-aided Design

Our Curriculum

Computer-aided design (CAD), is not a compulsory subject but is often chosen by those with an interest and skills in both design and computing, during option lessons. Students that are interested in this specialist area will progress from using sketch-up to use auto desk Fusion 360, the industry standard software for 3D production design, for example used in designing cars, architectural structures and designing most modern products.

Students develop creativity, problem-solving skill, develop self-management and organisational skills whilst advancing their digital and computer skills for real world applications.

Students will be set small scale project briefs which can be realised using our 3D printer.
