The intent of the Ethics and Philosophy Curriculum

Is it ever right to steal food for a starving family? You find a large sum of cash on the side of the road, what do you do? Does artificial intelligence require morals?

Ethics and Philosophy will allow students to explore these and other dilemmas with help from philosophers from ancient history to 20th century moralists. We will look at stories that challenge their preconceived ideas of life, identity and the world they inhabit. We will expose students to the diverse range of religious beliefs in our modern world. Our hope is to give students the appropriate knowledge to ask deep questions and give them the vocabulary to form their own answers to the most complex and important questions in life. This two-year course will enable our students to become respectful and trusting members of a multicultural British society.
