History

We believe in the importance of learning from history and are keen for students to study different aspects of the past, so they can engage with key issues such as conflict, understand what drives change and how the past influences the present.

Following the AQA syllabus, students will study the Elizabethan period, antecedents to World War One and World War One itself. The course also includes Germany during the Inter-War Period. The course aims to address the politics, philosophies and economics of each period studied.

The History syllabus culminates in a two year course resulting in GCSE examination. This can be condensed into 1 year for those starting at New Skill Centre in Year 11.
